Power Repair Operations in the Capital

Work proceeded on Saturday to restore power in the Ukrainian capital, after assaults.

Electricity had been recovered to more than 800,000 residents by Saturday and the largest utility provider stated the key work to repair the grid was complete though partial blackouts remained.

Air Defence Actions and Drone Downings

Ukraine's anti-aircraft systems downed or disrupted fifty-four of 78 UAVs from Russia launched against Ukraine during the night, the military reported on the weekend.

Russia's defense officials stated it eliminated 42 enemy UAVs from Ukraine over its own soil.

Cuba Denies Allegations of Deploying Troops to Ukraine

Cuba on the weekend denied American allegations it has sent soldiers to fight in the conflict in Ukraine, while affirming officials in Havana "lack exact data about Cuban nationals" engaged "voluntarily" or "in the military forces of either party".

The ministry in the capital said twenty-six nationals had been sentenced to jail sentences from five up to fourteen years for participating as mercenaries since September 2023 when news circulated of Cuban nationals being dispatched to the battlefield in Ukraine.

I Want to Live, a official Kyiv project that encourages enemy combatants to give up, said in May: "We reliably know the identities and information of 1,028 Cubans who enlisted with the Moscow's troops in the past two years."
