Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in power within the urban setting.
Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear mismatched, but the events of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the team enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Seekers and Planners groups.
Audiences can expect finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
