9. Hazbin Hotel Season 2

Showrunner Vivienne Medrano's audacious mature musical series, which sprang from a fan-funded short, fully hit its stride in its sophomore season. Building on the game-changing revelations of season 1, the story expands significantly, following the scheming TV demon Vox as he takes control of the narrative, igniting a chain of increasingly explosive conflicts that naturally culminate in show-stopping song.

Although it may lack a single breakout song quite like season one's "Loser, Baby," that's because everything in this season being more interwoven. The fight sequences, personal development, and above all the score and songs are all elevated. The story advances the main plot dramatically while delivering plenty of weird, unhinged, and simply entertaining dark fantasy.

8. Daredevil: Born Again

As a successor to the acclaimed Netflix show, this series had immense shoes to fill. Despite well-documented production issues, the final product proves it was worthy of the effort. The plot centers on Matt Murdock once his secret identity as Daredevil is publicly revealed, leaving him vulnerable to foes both past and new threats in a slightly version of his well-known world.

The first episode is explosive, evoking the intense feeling audiences cherished from the original series. While the subsequent episodes venture into certain new narrative ground, the season concludes on a strong note, leaving viewers keenly anticipating a follow-up installment.

7. Common Side Effects

An unexpected 2025 gem, this series is essentially a crime saga with the humor of King of the Hill. Created by Joe Bennett and writer Steve Hely, the series tells the story of a mild-mannered fungi expert who discovers a miraculous mushroom and quickly finds himself hunted by forces including ruthless Big Pharma CEOs to government authorities.

Far from being a parody, the narrative unfolds with the grave intensity of a 1970s conspiracy film. Accentuated by trippy animation and an unnerving score, the plot explores deeper mysteries about the substance's true effects. It's a smart, beautifully animated, and completely gripping ten-episode season.

6. Fallout Season 2

This hit series of the popular video game series returned with a second batch of episodes that deepened its sprawling lore and broadened its nuclear wasteland setting. While it travels in the direction of the legendary location of New Vegas, the story is far from a straight adaptation of that title; instead, it continues to explore themes of authority and autonomy.

The show skillfully balances several storylines and points of view, from the protagonist's quest for justice to a knight's reckoning with the ideology of the his faction. The outcome is a deeply detailed and utterly absorbing chapter to the expanding Fallout mythology.

5. Invincible Season 3

The visceral and heartfelt animated series keeps its powerful momentum in its third outing. Mark Grayson confronts immense challenges on all fronts: preparing for a coming Viltrumite invasion, mentoring his young brother, and battling with his shadowy GDA. The story also includes some of the most brutal fight scenes the series has yet produced.
