The center's head, a ex-Amazon UK executive, confirmed that multiple research initiatives at the organization with 440 employees have been closed, spun out or finished because they do not align with the revised strategy.

The institute has faced internal strife since last year as staff protested against reforms, culminating in a group of employees submitting a formal grievance to the proper supervisory commission.
